Description:This resource contains the geodatabase and shapefiles for Geothermal Administrative Boundaries (Fields) for the state of California. Each field contains at least one well capable of producing geothermal resources in commercial quantities. The boundaries are established by graphically constructing a one-mile square around each well capable of producing geothermal resources in commercial quantities. The data contained in the Access database includes Geothermal field polygons names and area and production data as a related resource. Digital well locations can be found in a compressed EXE file that contains the well location database geothermal wells in the state of California, published as a Web Feature Service, a Web Map Service, and an ESRI service endpoint for the National Geothermal Data System. The information contained in the file includes API number, operator, well name and number, section, township, and range, and the latitude and longitude (the map projection used is Latitude and Longitude-NAD27 for Continental United States), Projection: L; Units: Feet; Coverage: State of California. Original shapefiles are available through the California Department of Oil, Gas, and Geothermal Resources (DOGGR) link under Online Accessibility. This resource was provided by the Arizona Geological Survey and made available for distribution through the National Geothermal Data System.
