A Final Report: Thermal Conductivity Measurements for Idaho Geological Survey ARRA Supplemental Data Project (IFK541)

Basic Information
Author: David S. Chapman
Description:The University of Utah Geothermal Studies Lab carried out thermal conductivity measurements on 102 samples. Samples of drill cuttings from three exploratory boreholes (B-2, B-3, and B-4) were provided by the Idaho Geological Survey. This report summarizes the results of this work and provides context for the significance of thermal conductivity to thermal studies. This report is referenced as supplemental information in the thermal conductivity entries for these three wells in the National Geothermal Data System thermal conductivity data interchange content model that has been submitted as a deliverable under DOE contract ID-EE0002850. A companion project report summarizes information on well drilling, construction and well abandonment procedures. This resource was provided by the Idaho Geological Survey and made available for distribution through the National Geothermal Data System.
