A Case History of Injection Through 1991 at Dixie Valley, Nevada

Basic Information
Author: Dick Benoit
Description:ABSTRACT - The Dixie Valley injection system has been operational for 3 1/4 years and disperses injectate into the reservoir through three distinct geological environments. Short- term step-rate injection tests underestimated the long- term injectivity of some of the injectors requiring additional injectors to be drilled. Liberal use of surface discharge over three years allowed orderly development of an eight-well injection system that provides pressure support for nine production wells but has not yet resulted in any cooling problems.
