Close-Out Report: Oregon's Contribution to the National Geothermal Data System

Basic Information
Author: Clark A. Niewendorp
Description:The close-out report was prepared by the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI) to describe the work conducted in 2010 through 2013 for the OR (Oregon) Contribution to the National Geothermal Data System (NGDS). This work was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, Geothermal Technologies Program under award DE-EE0002850 to the Arizona Geological Survey acting on behalf of the Association of American State Geologists. DOGAMI submitted its state-specific geothermal data; as a modification to our original sub-recipient award, DOGAMI also collected a limited amount of new geothermal data in areas of Oregon that lacked critical information. This supplemental work was conducted during 2011 as part of the Great Basin Consortium project, a collaboration between DOGAMI and the geological surveys of Idaho, Utah, and Nevada. For each year of the Award, DOGAMI digitized its holdings of at-risk, legacy geothermal-relevant data and published this existing digital data by exposing databases to the NGDS. DOGAMI added over 39,700 online records to the NGDS and is currently acting as a distribution node to the system, serving our data online and hosting in-house.
