A blueprint for financing geothermal district heating in California

Basic Information
Author: Grattan, J.P., Hansen, D.P.
Description:The purpose of this contract was to determine what actions, if any, could significantly improve the prospects for use of direct heat geothermal district heating in California. The initial focus of effort was on space heating in a municipal context, but early research suggested that as a general rule only through cascading with industrial uses will space heating be economically feasible. Thus, we have utilized a liberal interpretation of district heating as including both residential and commercial space heating and industrial or agricultural processing.
