A Summary of the Hydrogeology of the Steamboat Hills and Vicinity, Draft Report

Basic Information
Author: William E. Nork
Description:WILLIAM E. NORK, INC was retained by Environmental Management Associates to review records, publications and commentary and from these data, to summarize the complex hydrogeology of the Steamboat Hills and vicinity. This cumulative investigation looked at the existing and future impacts on the hydrologic system which could be ascribed to neighboring geothermal operations, fresh groundwater users, surface water irrigators and natural phenomena such as drought conditions prevalent in this part of Nevada. This report provides plausible, sometimes alternative, explanations for the already observed declines in water levels and spring discharges and the potential future impacts.
